MOORESTOWN, N.J., FEB. 06, 2010--Moorestown, N.J.-based nonprofit A Drink for Tomorrow (ADFT) is the recipient of a $500 DoSomething Growth Grant. As a grant recipient, ADFT will receive funding to support its work on the global water crisis, as well as support, training, and recognition from DoSomething, an organization working to empower and enable young people who are working to create social change.
ADFT has been involved with DoSomething since March, 2009. Through its profile on the DoSomething website, ADFT engages people age twenty-five and under through action requests and campaign information. ADFT staff also attended DoSomething's Social Action Bootcamp in New York City in April of 2009. Here, staff members had the opportunity to network with other young social entrepreneurs and community leaders while receiving training intended to give attendees the tools the sustain and grow their respective projects and initiatives. DoSomething also played an integral role in the pro-bono creation of ADFT's website, by connecting ADFT to DoSomething's partner organization, Grassroots, which provides thousands of non-profits with free technology services each year.
ADFT plans to use the grant to enhance its promotional materials for pursuing business partners for its "Turn Wine Into Water"cause marketing campaign. Being able to present professional, effective marketing collateral to potential partners will enable ADFT to expand its cause marketing program and provide clean, safe drinking water to more people.
